This page explains what olddogai.ai collects, why, and how to have it removed. Last updated 18 October 2026.
Who runs this site
OLD DOG AI is run by me, Brad Bowyer, in Singapore. I’m also the data protection officer for this site, so I’m the person to contact about anything to do with your personal data. Write to bradb@olddogai.ai.
What the email list keeps
When you join the list, it keeps your email address and the date you joined. Nothing else is asked for.
Your address is used for one thing: sending the notes you signed up for. I send practical notes when there’s something worth your attention, and nothing else. That means a change in Claude big enough to matter to a reader of the book, the free tool when it’s ready, and news of new Old Dog Guides. I don’t sell your address or use it for advertising. Squarespace stores the list for me.
No emails have gone out yet. Before the first one does, this page will say which service sends them and whether it counts opens and clicks.
What the website itself collects
The site runs on Squarespace. It handles your IP address and browser so the page can load, stay secure and count visits. Squarespace sets the cookies the site needs to work.
The site also uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It only sets cookies if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you decline, your browser still sends Google a basic signal that a page was viewed, with no cookie and no ID that links your visits together. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie Preferences button at the bottom of the page.
The sign-up form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam, which means Google processes some information about your device and how you use the form.
The site’s typeface loads from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google’s servers for it and they see your IP address.
The LEAD light tool
The page version keeps your answers in your own browser’s storage so you can come back to them. They never reach this website or anyone else, and pressing Start again clears them. You can also clear them by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
If you email me
Mail to bradb@olddogai.ai is handled by Google Workspace. I keep your message only as long as I need it to reply.
Where it’s stored
Squarespace and Google are US companies, and they may keep this information on servers outside Singapore. I rely on their data protection terms to look after it to a standard comparable to Singapore’s law.
How long it’s kept
Your address stays on the list until you leave. If you leave, it’s kept only as unsubscribed, so you aren’t emailed again. If you’d rather it was deleted completely, say so and I’ll do it. And if you stay on the list but haven’t opened any of my emails for 24 months, I delete your address.
Leaving, checking or deleting
You can leave the list at any time, using the link at the bottom of any email or by writing to bradb@olddogai.ai. You can also ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I aim to reply within 30 days.
If you’re in the UK or the EU
I add you to the list only because you asked to join, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. You have the rights above, plus the others UK and EU law gives you, such as asking for a copy of your data to take elsewhere. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority in your country. In Singapore, it’s the Personal Data Protection Commission.
